Overview

Echo Bay’s launch ramp is the quiet, no-fuss gateway to the Overton Arm. The old marina below the campground is long closed, but the public ramp remains the go‑to for getting boats onto the water without the crowds. Expect a remote, lightly used vibe and big desert skies.

What You’ll Find

Down the road from Echo Bay’s campgrounds, the ramp area has generous trailer parking, a dock, and lighting that makes pre-dawn launches and after‑dark returns less stressful. Right next to it you’ll find a small picnic area and a fish‑cleaning station.

Boating and Fishing Notes

Anglers use Echo Bay as a jumping‑off point to reach coves by boat or to access shoreline spots nearby. Don’t plan to fish right from the ramp itself—treat it as a staging area and head to the coves or out on the lake.

Facilities and Services

Restrooms and potable water spigots are available in the adjacent campground area; there are no showers. A small on‑site store sells basics, but stock can be limited and prices higher than town. There’s an RV dump and water refill near the Upper Campground entrance. Cell service is hit‑or‑miss—better up the hill than near the water.

Vibe and Wildlife

This corner of the lake is often calm and uncrowded. You may see (and smell) wild burros around the camp areas, and coyotes are commonly heard at night. Expect some wear‑and‑tear on facilities; the dock layout can feel awkward for larger rigs.

Best Time to Visit

Summer heat is brutal; early spring and late fall are the sweet spots. If you’re launching in warmer months, go early or late in the day to avoid the worst heat. Wind can kick up quickly here—build that into your plan and check conditions before towing down.
