Six Mile Cove is a broad sandy beach on Lake Mohave. It works best for a beach-and-water day: paddle craft can launch here, and swimming, fishing, boating, picnicking and camping are all common uses. Weekend and holiday crowding is a recurring downside, and litter is often reported along the shore. I'd aim for a weekday if you want the cove to feel less busy.

From Searchlight, drive about 7 miles on Cottonwood Cove Road, then another 6 miles on Lake Mead Backcountry Road #31. The approach is wide, maintained dirt, but high-clearance vehicles are recommended; visitors repeatedly describe washboard. A low-clearance car is a poor match, and the trip is a commitment rather than a quick stop.

The 76-mile Mohave National Water Trail connects Eldorado Canyon with Laughlin Bridge and serves around 190 coves; it was designated a National Water Trail in 2020. Six Mile Cove is one of its shoreline access points. From the beach you get a sense of Lake Mohave's scale, while a paddle craft lets you explore a small part of the route yourself.
