The designated picnic area has 9 tables and 5 grills, plus restrooms and drinking water. Shade structures help, but this is still desert country—expect intense sun. The shoreline here ranges from small sandy stretches to smooth rock, and the water is famously clear (and brisk). A broader day‑use zone nearby includes a swim beach, a fishing pier, and a small cluster of additional tables and grills along the waterfront.

Activities

Paddling and boating: Rent kayaks, SUPs, or motorboats from the marina and explore the Black Canyon corridor; popular routes head toward Emerald Cave. If you plan to go upriver toward Hoover Dam, review current NPS boating guidance for the Black Canyon Water Trail.
