Getting There
Reach it on the easy Jibbon Beach Loop from Bundeena. The circuit is roughly 4–5 km; allow 1.5–2 hours at an unhurried pace. Bring water and snacks—there are no taps or kiosks along the loop. You can drive to Bundeena or come by train to Cronulla and ferry to Bundeena, then walk from the wharf.

Expect classic Sydney Basin scenery—weathered sandstone headlands and broad rock shelves. Low tide reveals rock pools that are fun to peer into, and birdlife is active around the headland. As the name hints, shells are everywhere; it’s a pretty spot for simple beachcombing and photos rather than a full beach day.
Safety First
This is an unpatrolled ocean beach. Stay well back from the rock edge—unexpected large waves can sweep the platforms. Rock pools can host marine critters (including blue‑ringed octopus), so look, don’t touch. There are no toilets on the loop or at the beach. On warm days you may encounter snakes on the track—give them space and keep your eyes down.

Go early or late for softer light and the quietest feel; weekends around midday see more walkers. After rain, short sections of the loop can be muddy or a bit overgrown, so wear shoes with grip. Royal National Park generally operates 7:00 am–8:30 pm and may close during poor weather or fire danger; a park entry fee applies.
