Maverick Entrance Sign is the welcome sign at Big Bend National Park’s western entrance, about three miles east of Study Butte. It’s a short photo stop on the drive in, separate from the fee station farther along the road.
The sign sits at the base of colorful clay hills, with the Chisos Mountains rising in the distance. Include both behind the sign; that’s the part that makes this entrance photo feel like Big Bend.
There’s auto parking, and the stop is identified as wheelchair-accessible, though the distance from the parking area to the sign isn’t specified. For entrance fees, passes, or park information, continue to the separate Maverick Entrance Station, about a mile farther east from Study Butte.
