History Snapshot
Built in 1564 by John Gordon and later used as a hunting seat by the Earls of Huntly, Blairfindy is tied to major local events. The Earl of Huntly was held here overnight in 1647, and government troops burned the house after Culloden in 1746—leaving the ruin you see today. It’s a protected historic site, and recent conservation works were completed to stabilize the structure and improve safe access.
