A few picnic tables are present, and DOC staff may pop by.
Access & vehicles
Drive‑in access right off SH94. Tents and campervans fit fine; larger rigs are generally okay but may find turning room limited—parking near the entrance can be easier. There’s typically some mobile coverage here, though it can vary. Starlink works if you bring it.
Wildlife & nuisances
You’ll hear plenty of birdsong in the beech forest, and sandflies tend to be less ferocious here than at some Fiordland spots—still bring repellent. A couple of recent visitors reported mice nosing around vehicles at night, so store food wisely. Anglers use the river access.
