About Bowen Falls
Also known as Lady Bowen Falls (Māori: Hineteawa), this 162 m cascade is the powerhouse at the head of Milford Sound. Fed by the 9 km Bowen River, it not only thunders into the fiord year‑round but also supplies drinking water and generates electricity for the tiny Milford Sound settlement.
