• Pairs well with the camp’s shop and day-visitor picnic/braai area if you’d rather self-cater.
• For a full menu, table service, and ambience, use the on-site restaurant instead.

Setting & Wildlife Context

The camp sits along the Matjulu Spruit with dry riverbeds and a dam—predators like leopard are occasionally seen drinking from the water, and the broader area supports white rhino, wild dog, and a good mix of plains game and birdlife. Keep an eye on the water from within camp between meals.

Best Time to Visit

Aim slightly ahead of typical mealtimes to avoid lines; breakfast cut-offs at the main venue can be firm. If the cafeteria is slammed, the shop and picnic/braai area make an easy Plan B. The sit-down restaurant operates daily (generally 07:00–21:00), which gives you a wide window to shift your meal if needed.

Practicalities

Expect the usual big-camp trade-offs: occasional service bottlenecks at peak times, but multiple food options overall. There’s an internet café at reception (LAN access) and 3G coverage in camp. There’s no ATM on site, so come prepared.
