Set on a ridge in the far‑northern Makuleke (Pafuri) corner, The Outpost is all about immersion: big river views, ancient baobabs, and the famed Fever Tree Forest. The Setting

You’re near the confluence of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, overlooking the Luvuvhu River. Drives often include the Fever Tree Forest and viewpoints like Lanner Gorge—distinctive, photogenic landscapes that feel worlds away from busier parts of the park.

Rooms & Spaces

There are 12 freestanding “spaces” stretched along the ridge. They’re purposefully open to nature with retractable screens for 180‑degree views, plus indoor/outdoor showers and many with freestanding tubs and private decks. The main area has a dining room, lounge and bar, a generous pool deck, and a firepit for starlit evenings.

Safari Rhythm & Wildlife

Expect two drives a day with guides who lean into the region’s strengths: superb birding, varied habitats, and quieter sightings. Big‑ticket predators and elephants do feature, but the north rewards patience—think wild dogs, leopards, and unusual small mammals when luck strikes. Note that it can take roughly 30–45 minutes to reach the prime areas from the lodge.
