Maragowan is a touring campsite on the bank of the River Lochay, for caravans, motorhomes and small campervans rather than tents. The river and hills give it a proper Highland setting, but its biggest advantage is convenience: Killin is walkable, and the Falls of Dochart are close enough for an easy outing. I'd choose it when you want to park up and explore on foot instead of driving to every meal or shop.

The site has electric hook-ups, a toilet block with accessible facilities and a disabled shower room, a family washroom, laundry, dishwashing, a dog walk, a motorhome service point, Wi-Fi and a playground. Fishing is available on the River Lochay with a site permit, and there's a nine-hole golf course beside the site. A Co-op, pubs and shops are in Killin, rather than on the campsite itself.

Approach from the A827 between Killin and Kenmore; the entrance is on the right about half a mile past the village. Don't turn into Pier Road, which isn't suitable for caravans or motorhomes. The single facilities block is kept clean, but several reviews describe it as dated. Riverside pitches look appealing, though they may feel less private if people use the river edge as a shortcut. If that matters to you, ask about pitch position when you arrive.
