Boyd’s Key West Campground is a privately run campground on Stock Island, about four miles from Duval Street in Old Town Key West. It offers full-hookup RV sites, tent sites, tiny-home rentals and RV rentals, making it an overnight base outside the historic core rather than a quick scenic-drive stop. Plan a separate trip into town.
The RV and tent pitches are arranged close together, so expect a compact campground with limited privacy. Waterfront sites look across Boca Chica Basin and can catch the sunrise; that outlook does not come with every pitch, so choose a water-facing site if the view matters.
The campground’s private marina has 20 slips and a launch ramp for boats up to 30 feet. Kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals and five fish-cleaning stations make the waterfront useful to boaters and paddlers as well as campers looking for a view.
Campground facilities include bathrooms and showers, a heated pool, a camp store and rotating food trucks. Cuban coffee is a signature offering, though truck menus rotate. Tent sites have picnic tables and grills.
Boyd and Elsie Hamilton arrived in Key West on New Year’s Day 1948 in a homemade camper, then opened this campground in 1963. It remains family-run, with the waterfront setting and camping-first setup still at the center of the stay.
