A classic south-entrance stop, the Rainbow Forest Lodge Gift Shop is the place to browse souvenirs tied directly to what you’ve just seen outside: massive, kaleidoscopic petrified logs. It’s right next to Rainbow Forest Museum and the Giant Logs Trail, so popping in before or after your walk is effortless.
Petrified wood is strictly protected in the park. This shop explicitly focuses on legally obtained specimens from private lands—so if you want a piece to take home, this is the ethical, allowed route. It also serves as a convenient one-stop for mementos without leaving the park.
The Rainbow Forest complex has anchored the south end of the park since the early days, with historic stone buildings that once served as park headquarters. The gift shop sits amid the densest, most colorful petrified wood landscapes—hence the name “Rainbow Forest.”
