Twin Falls Trail

From the entrance beside the farm stand, follow the gravel farm road and take the short paths on the left to the lower viewpoints. Log benches mark the turnoffs, and the first waterfall views come within a few minutes. This is the simpler part of the walk; some visitors stop here rather than continue into the upper valley.

For the longer version, follow the gravel road toward the forest for about three-quarters of a mile, then take the left branch at the three-way junction onto a rocky path. The upper section is rougher and crosses the stream several times. At the end, Caveman Falls—also called Cave Falls—spills beside a cave-like recess, with vines and dense greenery framing the water.

The full route gains about 150 feet. That’s modest, but the wet rocks and stream crossings make the upper walk more demanding than the distance suggests. Allow roughly 1–2 hours for the upper falls with time to look around; swimming or a long stop adds time. The lower viewpoints need much less.

The upper crossings can be slippery, and visitors report stronger flow after rain. The farm may close the valley or an individual section when conditions are unsafe. Respect closures and turn back if the water is high; the upper falls aren’t worth a risky crossing.

Twin Falls is on privately operated Wailele Farm, which opens public access through its designated dirt lot beside the farm stand near Mile Marker 2. Parking is limited and first-come. The operator prohibits roadside parking, walking in from the highway, and rideshare drop-offs. The stand sells fresh juices, coconuts, Maui-grown fruit and baked goods, and portable toilets are near the start.

At the upper waterfall, include the vine-covered rock recess behind the falling water; it gives the scene its distinctive cave-like frame. Water levels change how many separate cascades are visible at the lower falls, so the view can look different from one visit to the next.
