GoCA is an indoor gallery and shop beside Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara, showing Indigenous art from Central Australian Desert-region artists. It’s an easy 30-to-60-minute stop if you’re staying at Ayers Rock Resort and want a cultural break from the park drives. The gallery is outside the park interior, in the resort township. Entry is free, and a free guided tour adds context to the work; check the current tour schedule before planning around it.

GoCA formally launched in 2022 after opening quietly the year before. Its stated purpose was to give remote Central Australian artists a place to sell their work. The current gallery continues that role through its Art Centre relationships, so if a piece catches your eye, ask which artist and community it comes from.

The gallery’s logo draws on Kapi Tjukurla, a design by senior Muṯitjulu woman Kunmanara (Julie Taria) Brumby. The name is Pitjantjatjara for “waterholes”; its linked circles and lines represent waterholes and river courses, as well as places where Aṉangu travel and rest. It’s a specific piece of local context to keep in mind as you look around.
