The Crossing Resort

The Crossing Resort is a motel and service complex at the junction of the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) and the David Thompson Highway (Highway 11), about 85 km north of Lake Louise. It makes sense as a practical stop for fuel, a meal, supplies, or an overnight break on a long mountain drive. Services are seasonal, so check what's operating before relying on it outside the main travel season. The nearby Howse Pass Viewpoint is a separate stop.

The resort has gasoline, diesel, LPG and tank fill, plus limited EV charging. Mt. Wilson Restaurant offers sit-down meals; the Crossing Cafe is the casual option for coffee, soup, sandwiches and burgers; and the Parkway Pub adds drinks and a deck. The General Store carries groceries and basic RV and picnic supplies alongside gifts. Expect remote-stop prices and a convenience-store selection rather than a full supermarket.

Rooms with private bathrooms make the resort more than a fuel stop, and overnight guests can use the sauna and fitness center. The main draw is its position on the Parkway and the mountain setting. Visitors often praise the views and helpful staff, while room condition and value receive mixed feedback, with some guests finding rooms dated or cramped.

From the Parkway Pub deck, the view faces Mount Sarbach and Mount Murchison. The broader Saskatchewan River Crossing area is where the North Saskatchewan, Mistaya and Howse rivers meet.
