Wollumai Lookout is a small, peaceful vantage on the rim above the Jamison Valley, tucked along the Prince Henry Cliff Walk between Katoomba and Leura. It’s a pause-and-soak-it-in kind of stop—simple platform, big scenery.

Getting There & Facilities

You reach Wollumai only on foot via the cliff-top track. There’s no dedicated parking, toilets, water, or shelters at the lookout itself; use facilities at larger hubs like Echo Point or Katoomba Falls Reserve before setting out.

This is a quieter alternative to the big-name platforms nearby. If you’re walking the cliff track, it’s a lovely, low-key stop—more about serenity than spectacle or infrastructure.

Best Time to Visit

Early mornings and late afternoons bring softer light over the valley and fewer people. Weekends late morning can see more passersby on the track, while weekdays tend to be calmer. Visit in clear weather for the longest views.

Wildlife

Along the clifftop forest, keep an ear out for lyrebirds and colorful parrots like cockatoos and rosellas; they’re common in this part of the mountains.
