Everglades Safari Park

Everglades Safari Park is a privately run airboat attraction on the Tamiami Trail, east of Shark Valley. Choose it for a guided ride and an alligator presentation in one stop; the standard narrated trip takes about 30 to 40 minutes. It's a commercial tour, not a quiet backcountry outing, and wild-animal sightings are never guaranteed.

Airboats skim shallow marsh channels with the propeller above the water. Captains narrate the ride, and visitors often praise their knowledge, but the wildlife is unpredictable. Shared boats are open to sun and wind and can be loud, so secure your hat and bring sunglasses. Private tours are available for a smaller-group experience.

The visit also includes an alligator presentation and a short walking trail past crocodilian exhibits. That makes this an easy introduction to the animals and airboats, though the captive-animal displays won't suit everyone.
