Headwaters Campground & RV Park is a large, seasonal campground at Flagg Ranch in the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway, the wooded link between Grand Teton and Yellowstone. It sits off Grassy Lake Road near Moran, so it works best as a base if you're visiting both parks. It's in the connecting parkway, outside Grand Teton's main boundary. The season usually runs from June into early October, and stays are reservation-only, so check that your dates line up before planning around it.

There are 34 tent sites, 97 full-hookup pull-through RV sites and 40 hard-wall camper cabins. The tent sites have pads for up to two tents and gravel parking. RVs and tow vehicles can be up to 45 feet combined. Cabins have bunks and a lantern, but no electricity or private bathroom; bring your own bedding and pillows. Each site and cabin has a picnic table and fire ring.

Water spigots, flush toilets, complimentary showers and coin-operated laundry serve the campground. Restrooms and one shower are wheelchair-accessible, though sloping ground and uneven routes can make getting around harder. Expect gravel roads and some close RV spacing; this is a developed campground rather than a secluded backcountry site. The nearby lodge has Sheffield's Restaurant and Saloon, a convenience store and gas and diesel service when those seasonal facilities are operating.

Walks and wildlife nearbyNone of the sites is on the Snake River, but the river is within walking distance.

None of the sites is on the Snake River, but the river is within walking distance. Easy walks at Flagg Canyon follow the river, while the Polecat Creek route crosses wetlands. The parkway was dedicated in 1972 across 24,000 acres in recognition of John D. Rockefeller, Jr.'s contribution to the national parks; its landscape brings together the Teton Range's gentler northern slope and volcanic rocks from Yellowstone. Bears, moose and deer use the Flagg Ranch area. Give bears 100 yards and other wildlife 25 yards.
