Construction closures and delays
Construction is closing Death Canyon Road and Trailhead and the Moose-Wilson Road segment, while causing delays on North Park Road and at the Moose Entrance Station roundabout. Follow posted controls and allow extra time. - Death Canyon Road and Trailhead: closed to all use, including pedestrians, because the trailhead is being relocated about one mile and the road is being paved, shortened, and ended at the new trailhead. Hikes into Death Canyon and beyond will be longer; access remains possible from Granite Canyon Trailhead or Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve, but parking is limited. - Moose-Wilson Road between Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve and Moose: closed September 8–November 15 to facilitate the road realignment and the safe transport of equipment and materials to Death Canyon. - Menor’s Ferry Road: closed to all use on weekdays because of construction; weekend parking for the Menor’s Ferry Historic District and Chapel of the Transfiguration is reduced by construction staging and material storage. - North Park Road between Lizard Creek Campground and Leeks Marina: structural improvements are correcting pavement buckling and erosion. A temporary signal alternates one lane of traffic, causing 15-minute delays from 6 a.m.–9 p.m. and delays of up to one hour from 9 p.m.–6 a.m. Turnouts near the work site are closed for material storage and equipment staging; Lakeview Picnic Area and Arizona Island Picnic Area are alternatives. - Teton Park Road roundabout at Moose Entrance Station: construction of a new roundabout is underway, with delays of up to 20 minutes, not including entrance-station wait time. Do not enter closed areas or use routes under construction. Project timelines and impacts may change. Check current construction and road conditions before traveling.
