Beauty Creek Viewpoint is a roadside pullout where Beauty Creek runs through forested slopes and a narrow canyon. It is 146 km from Lake Louise and 87 km from Jasper along the Icefields Parkway. I’d stop for a short look at the water and mountain setting; the waterfall experience means leaving the pullout for a hike.

The trail goes fartherThe pullout is also the start of Stanley Falls Trail (Trail 54).

The pullout is also the start of Stanley Falls Trail (Trail 54). Follow it upstream for closer canyon views and a succession of waterfalls; the roadside view does not reach them. Treat the quick stop and the hike as separate plans.

From the pullout, look for the creek in front of the forested canyon and the wide mountain valley beyond. A wide composition can keep both the water and Parkway landscape in view; the falls make the more intimate photo subject farther up the trail.
