Rampart Creek Campground is a rustic frontcountry campground on the Icefields Parkway, 91 km north of Lake Louise and 142 km south of Jasper. It backs onto the North Saskatchewan River in a wooded mountain valley, making it a quiet overnight pause on the drive. It is a seasonal campground, so check its current operating dates before planning around a stay.
The unserviced sites suit tents and motorhomes or trailers up to 10 m long. Expect a basic campground rather than a full-service RV park. The Parkway has limited services and no cell coverage, so arrange fuel, meals and drinking water before leaving Lake Louise or Jasper.
River access and the wooded setting are the draw here; not every pitch has the same view, so do not expect to see the river from your campsite. Visitors often describe the campground as quiet, with easy walks to the water. It sits a long way between resupply stops, so it works best when you are already planning to spend a night on the Parkway.
