Choose this campsite if you want woodland and river walks from your pitch, with the practical comforts of an organised site. It sits beside the River Forth near Gartmore, a couple of miles south of Aberfoyle. This is an overnight camping base, with facilities provided for guests.

Meadow or woodland? The site spreads across more than 14 acres of river meadow and woodland.

The site spreads across more than 14 acres of river meadow and woodland. There are pitches for tents and touring units, with a choice of more open ground or a setting among mature trees; electric hook-ups are available on selected pitches. Check the pitch type suits your unit when booking.

Paths lead into the surrounding forest, and the river trail starts from the meadow area. You can spend time around the site without driving off for every walk. The riverside setting also makes a more interesting campsite photograph than a row of vehicles: look for the water framed by the trees, from an established path.

Supplies and practical detailsThere are toilet and shower facilities, laundry, drinking-water points and waste disposal.

There are toilet and shower facilities, laundry, drinking-water points and waste disposal. The shop carries camping essentials, basic food, barbecue supplies and drinks, useful if you've forgotten something. The Coull Beans coffee van serves hot morning rolls, drinks and cakes; check its service days when planning meals. Aberfoyle has further shops and places to eat.

Discuss access requirements with the site before booking. Accessible washrooms are advertised, but parts of the grounds and paths are sloping or uneven. Dogs are welcome and must be kept on a short lead on the site.
