Guide
At the Gulf-side end of Simonton Street, this compact city beach has a small sandy frontage, a pier and a recreational boat ramp. Public restrooms are on site. It is an easy downtown place for a quick swim or a pause by the water, with the dock and boats part of the scene.
Come for convenient water access and the pier, with the expectation that there is little room to spread out. The sandy area is small enough to feel cramped when it fills. Water clarity and floating sea grass vary, so do not count on a consistently clear-water swim.
Parking close to the beach can be tight; if you are already downtown, walking or biking may be easier. Lagerheads Beach Bar sits beside the sand for casual food and drinks. From the beach, frame the pier with the water and boats to capture the small working waterfront alongside the swimming spot.
