Camper Bay Campground is a backcountry tent site at about kilometre 62 of the West Coast Trail, where Camper Creek crosses a broad pebble beach on its way to the coast. It is an overnight stop for hikers on the trail, not a drive-up campground; a reservation and permit, orientation, and check-in are required for the hike.

One of the harder daysFrom Walbran Creek at kilometre 53, it is about 9 km to Camper Creek/Bay at kilometre 62.

From Walbran Creek at kilometre 53, it is about 9 km to Camper Creek/Bay at kilometre 62. Many hikers consider this one of the toughest stretches of the trail, with muddy ground, roots, and numerous ladders. Be ready for that day before you count on Camper Bay as your overnight.

The West Coast Trail closes every year from October 7 through April 30, except for limited day use within the first 8 km from Pachena Bay. Camper Bay is beyond that section, so you cannot reach it during the closure.

Tents line the forest edge along the creek's sandy margin, with a few clearings in the trees. The camp itself has no open ocean view; the creek and a low point screen the water. Reaching the coast means crossing the creek and climbing the point beyond it. Outhouses and food-storage boxes are available, but there are no garbage cans on the trail, so pack out all garbage.
