Old Bridge of Tilt and the Red Squirrel Walk“You're approaching Old Bridge of Tilt, with woodland walks from Glen Tilt car park. For a short stop, I'd choose the red-marked Red Squirrel Walk, a gentle one-mile loop taking thirty to forty minutes beside the river.”

Trail guide
This 8.4-mile (13.6 km) circuit starts at Glen Tilt Car Park and links Old Blair, the West Drive, woodland and Banvie Burn. It is a varied long walk through estate parkland and rougher hillside tracks, returning to the car park along the Glen Tilt track. Allow about 4–5 hours at an ordinary pace with stops.
Expect uneven, muddy paths even in summer, with steep climbs and a descent beside the Banvie Burn. Sturdy footwear matters, and the riverbanks are steep. The estate's 2022 map directs walkers along blue arrows for part of the circuit, then green arrows after returning to the Old Blair crossroads; its current walking page does not name this loop, so take the map and confirm the route signs and access before setting out.
Dogs are welcome when kept under control. During stag stalking season (1 August–20 October), Atholl Estates asks walkers to remain on main paths or use its hillphone service. Glen Tilt Car Park is the named start; overnight parking of cars and campervans or caravans is not permitted.
