After you pass the nearby Homestead Entrance Gate, it’s a long, 39‑mile stretch to Flamingo with no more visitor centers, so plan your day here.

Wildlife and Scenery

You won’t come here for wildlife. Save your spotting for inside the park—especially Royal Palm’s Anhinga Trail a short drive in—where gators, wading birds, and turtles are common.
