Polebridge Ranger Station is a working National Park Service post in Glacier's remote North Fork, near Henshaw Bridge and the North Fork of the Flathead River. It is a useful stop for ranger help before you continue toward Bowman or Kintla Lakes. Boaters headed to either lake are directed here for aquatic invasive-species inspection, so make this stop before launching.

The station is a group of log and frame buildings. Its one-story log residence was built in 1922; the log horse barn followed in 1926, and a seasonal cabin was built in late 1934 by local contractor Harry Doverspike. The barn hints at the mix of work that once happened here: ranger housing, horse care, and service for a remote corner of the park. The Park Service placed the station where Route 7 reached the west bank of the North Fork, at the edge of year-round settlement and private activity near the international boundary. Getting here is part of a North Fork trip: Outside North Fork Road is the smoother, wider approach, while Inside North Fork Road is rougher. Check current road status before setting out; this is a better stop when you are already heading toward the North Fork lakes than as a quick detour.
