Colter Bay Campground is a large summer-season campground among lodgepole pines at Colter Bay Village. The sites sit back from Jackson Lake, but a short walk reaches the shore and views of Mount Moran and the northern Teton Range. It is a handy base for tent camping or dry-RV camping, with trails and village services close by. Summer sites fill quickly, so plan ahead.

Sites are arranged in wooded loops. Most have a picnic table, fire grate and bear box; seasonal drinking water and flush toilets are available, with paid showers and laundry nearby. Hiker-bicyclist sites do not have vehicle parking. Full RV hookups are at the separate Colter Bay RV Park. The nearby village adds restaurants, a grocery store, visitor center and marina, all within walking distance.

John D. Rockefeller Jr. backed development of a northern campground and village here. More than 186 cabins from homesteads and dude ranches around the Jackson Lake area were moved to Colter Bay, which opened in 1957. The village grew during the Mission 66 era, so this is a developed, service-rich base beside the lake rather than a remote shoreline camp.
