Aire River West Campground

Aire River West is a drive-in campground on the river’s western bank, below the Otway Ranges. The broad, open layout suits caravans, larger groups and longer stays; the East campground across the river is more sheltered. Book and pay ahead: reservations are required year-round.

The map marks toilets, picnic tables, a picnic shelter, fireplaces and water labelled non-potable. Bring drinking water and food; no food outlet or shower is listed for the campground. Dogs are not allowed in the national park.

A timber bridge links the West and East campgrounds across the Aire River, and the West site has a boat ramp and walking track. Koalas are sometimes reported in the surrounding trees. The open west bank is less sheltered than East, and riverside ground can turn soggy after rain. Accounts disagree about vehicle access to the nearby beach, so check current park information before planning to drive there.
