Kennett River caravan park and precinct areas closed for works
The Kennett River caravan park, the precinct in front of the café, and the river walk picnic area are closed during precinct improvement works. - Works are underway to deliver public open spaces and landscaping, car park, road and pedestrian-path upgrades, a new public toilet, and an upgraded wastewater treatment plant. - The caravan park is closed while the wastewater treatment plant is installed and is expected to remain closed until just prior to the September school holidays; visitors with bookings during this time are being offered spots at nearby parks, and annual permit holders have been engaged. - The café-front precinct and river walk picnic area are closed during works from 20 July through September 2026, with fencing around the worksite to ensure safety. - Hawdon Avenue and Grey River Road remain open with traffic management, while speed restrictions apply along the Great Ocean Road. A public toilet will be made available in the caravan park for visitors to the beach area. Check the current Kennett River project update before travelling.
