About Lomond Campground

Why stop

  • Six tent sites beside the rocky shore
  • Dock and boat launch on the East Arm

Heads up

  • Walk-in beach sites require carrying gear
  • Washrooms are uphill from the waterfront
Campsites are unserviced, and each has a fire pit. Facilities include a kitchen shelter, flush toilets, showers, a playground, and a dumping station. There is no restaurant or food service listed, so bring groceries. If you want the bay-and-mountain setting, choose or visit the walk-in shore area; other pitches are not necessarily waterfront.

Lomond Campground is a forested Parks Canada campground on the shores of Bonne Bay in Gros Morne's Lomond River valley. Parks Canada lists 36 reservable sites, including four tiny cabins, alongside wooded and open pitches and waterside walk-in sites. The walk-in sites put a tent beside the rocky, seaweed-strewn shore, with mountain views across the water. You carry your gear in, and the washrooms are uphill from the waterfront sites.

A dock and boat launch provide access to Bonne Bay's East Arm for boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The Lomond River has salmon fishing access, and Stuckless Pond Trail is nearby. Lomond makes a useful base for the park's south side, including the Tablelands, Lookout Trail, Discovery Centre, and nearby communities; plan on more driving for the northern park.
