Hocking Hills State Park Campground

Hocking Hills State Park Campground is the park’s main developed, drive-up campground beside Old Man’s Cave and the visitor center. It’s a practical base for the gorge trails, with full-hookup, electric-only, and non-electric sites, plus three Sherman cabins. Campers often find sites close together, so check the site details if you want more space or have a large setup.

Each main site has a paved pad, fire ring, and picnic table. Group sites G1–G4 sit between the pool and Rose Lake; they are tent-only and non-electric, and G2 and G3 share a shelter. The campground adds a store, playgrounds, volleyball, horseshoes, and a seasonal outdoor pool; check the store’s current offerings separately if you’re counting on prepared food.

The three Sherman cabins sleep three or four and have heat, air conditioning, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. One is identified as accessible. None has running water or a restroom, so cabin guests use the campground facilities.

Registered campers have about 300 feet of shoreline on 17-acre Rose Lake. Small boats use a hand launch, but reaching it means carrying them about half a mile from State Route 374. The lake is a nice extra to a stay here; the main reason to choose this campground is its close access to Old Man’s Cave and the park’s hiking area.
