Callville Bay Campground is a developed 52-site campground on Lake Mead's northwest shore, reached from Northshore Road. It works best as a quiet desert overnight stop, not a beach camp: the campsites don't provide direct lake access, and swimming isn't allowed in the nearby marina harbor. A few sites have lake views. Summer temperatures usually top 100°F, so the season matters here.
Sites have picnic tables, fire rings with grills, water spigots and toilets; there are no showers listed. Campground listings disagree about RV access and whether the main sites require reservations. Full-hookup RV spaces are listed separately at Trailer Village, so confirm the exact facility and site type before booking.
The Callville Bay marina resort is within walking distance and has a restaurant and lounge, a café, a store and boat rentals. Across the road from the bay area, Callville Summit Trail makes a 2.7-mile moderate climb to views of Lake Mead, Fortification Hill, Hemenway Valley and the River Mountains. A shaded picnic area has panels about the area's history.
