Overnight choices include tent sites, full-hookup RV spaces, bunkhouses, and vacation homes. The park has eight shower buildings and laundry; its picnic areas include restrooms, shaded ramadas, grills, tables, and a playground. Current food service isn’t clear, so plan meals separately rather than counting on buying lunch here.

From workers’ town to county parkDavis Camp began as a Bureau of Reclamation settlement for people building Davis Dam.

Davis Camp began as a Bureau of Reclamation settlement for people building Davis Dam. At its 1948 peak, about 100 homes stood here alongside a grocery, gas station, post office, recreation center with a pool, two churches, and service buildings. The settlement dwindled after the dam was completed in 1953, and the Bureau began removing buildings in 1959–60. A county, state, and federal partnership turned the remaining area into a regional park, which opened in 1983. Two former 1946 houses later became visitor rentals.

Get low beside the beach and shoot along the curve of the shore, with the river and rocky opposite bank beyond it. That gives the water some scale and makes the Colorado River setting clear; a straight-on shot across open water loses the shape of the beach.
