Best time to go

Much of the clearing is open and sunny, with tables closer to the surrounding trees offering more cover, so a hat or a shade-friendly seat helps on hot, bright days. Bring everything you need for the meal, including water, food, charcoal or fuel if you plan to use a grill, and a bag to pack out your trash. One table sits on a cement pad for easier access.

Facilities here are limited to picnic tables, grills, grass, and parking, so plan ahead rather than expecting services. The creek runs nearby and shapes the atmosphere, but the picnic clearing itself is the main view, and water is not the focus of the site.
