Hookups, showers and planning

The ADA-accessible bathhouse has hot showers, site 1 is ADA accessible, RVs can be up to 70 feet long, and a dump station is available. There is no laundry. The open sites have little shade, and warm-season mosquitoes can be intense, so bring sun protection and repellent. Reservations open up to 11 months ahead; plan early for a winter stay. Pets must be on a six-foot hand-held leash where allowed, and cannot go on the beach, in the water or in bathhouses.

“Curry Hammock's beach and day-use area is ahead, with Atlantic sand, picnic pavilions and a kayak launch together. I'd stop for a beach picnic or the hour-long paddle around Little Crawl Key.”

Curry Hammock State Park Campground sits on Little Crawl Key along the Atlantic side of the Overseas Highway. Every site has a gravel pad, water, 20/30/50-amp power, a picnic table, charcoal grill and hammock posts, so the layout works for RVs and tents. Only some sites look toward the ocean; the coastal setting does not guarantee a view from every pad.

Campground beach access is between sites 13 and 15, and campers can carry kayaks or paddleboards down to the water. Elsewhere along the park's waterfront, wind brings kiteboarders to watch. The campground shoreline is shallow and has no lifeguards, so check conditions before planning to swim.
