Before you go

Bring water and arrange a permit

There’s no potable water on the islands. Parks Canada recommends carrying 4–6 litres per person per day. Solar composting outhouses serve the designated campsites. Camping is seasonal, May 1 to September 30, and requires a backcountry permit; stays are limited to four nights per camping area and groups to 12 people. Dogs aren’t allowed, except service animals.

The grassy sites can feel close together when the area is busy. At the island’s southern end, a short trail winds through large trees; reaching it involves a paddle among small islets rather than a walk from a road. The shore also opens to sunset views.
