Curracurrang Falls is a low, tiered waterfall feeding a deep pool in a bush-lined gully off the Coast Track south of Wattamolla. It is separate from Curracurrong Falls, the ocean-drop waterfall near Eagle Rock. Make the detour for the natural swimming hole and allow about 4 km and 1.5 hours from Wattamolla, plus time by the pool.

Finding the unmarked spurStart at Wattamolla, using the Coast Track or the fire-trail access from the top car park.

Start at Wattamolla, using the Coast Track or the fire-trail access from the top car park. Around 2 km along, at Curracurrang Gully creek, look for the small park marker and an informal path following the water upstream. The falls are roughly 200 m farther through palms. The last section has uneven bush ground and creek stepping stones, so this is a moderate walk rather than a pull-in beside the road. Route descriptions put the full walk at about 4 to 4.3 km, with roughly 220 m of climbing. The falls have no facilities; use the toilets at Wattamolla picnic area before setting out.

Watch the waterThe cascade spills over low rock ledges into a pool with a rocky, sandy bottom.

The cascade spills over low rock ledges into a pool with a rocky, sandy bottom. For a photo, keep the upper ledges, full drop and a strip of pool together; the stepped shape gives the small waterfall its character, and the pool helps show its scale. Flow is stronger after rain, but the water can be cloudy just afterward, so give it time to clear if you want to see the pool bottom.
