Trail guide
The short Curracurrang Falls Walk is a 3.5 km (2.2 mi) out-and-back from Wattamolla Car Park 5. It follows the Coast Track to Curracurrang Gully, then a roughly 220 m creekside spur to a sandstone waterfall pool. Allow about 1.5 hours. The main track is easy; the last spur is rougher and takes more care.
Go through the gate at Car Park 5 on the fire trail. After about 315 m, turn right onto the metal boardwalk and stay on the Coast Track through rocky shelves and steps to Curracurrang Gully. At the creek crossing, look for the post marked “Curracurrang.” The unmarked spur leaves before you cross; follow it upstream beside the creek. If you cross on the main track, backtrack to the post.
The walk alternates boardwalk with open sandstone shelves and ocean glimpses. A few staircases and one gradual rise break up an otherwise gentle route. The spur narrows into palms and passes a rock overhang before reaching the pool. Its sandy edge is shallow; the water gets deeper farther in. At the pool, include the sandstone shelves and palms in a photo to show how quickly the route shifts from exposed coast to sheltered gully.
Toilets, picnic tables and barbecues are back at Wattamolla. Drinking water is not available along the walk; water at Wattamolla is untreated, so bring drinking water. Vehicle entry fees apply. Pets are not permitted except certified assistance animals. If you want more coast, the longer approach passes Providential Point and is about 2.4 km each way; taking it out and returning on the short route makes a 4.2 km circuit.
