Arthur’s Pass Alpine Motel is a group of self-contained cabins in Arthur’s Pass Village, inside the national park. Each has its own kitchen and private bathroom; cabins sleep one to five, and some have gas fires. It’s a practical base for a few nights of walking in the park.
The motel is on State Highway 73, about 400 metres from the DOC visitor centre toward Christchurch. A café and restaurant are a short walk away, and the hosts often share local walking advice. Avalanche Peak is one of the nearby outings the operator points guests toward.
Free off-street parking, Wi-Fi and guest laundry are listed for the property. A few guests have reported hearing trains at night, while others found the sound unobtrusive; if noise matters to you, keep that in mind when booking. December through April is generally the area's busy season, so booking ahead is sensible.
