The Mossman Gorge Day-use Area is the shaded picnic and walking-track start in the Mossman Gorge section of Daintree National Park. Come here to begin the gorge walks or take an easy outing: Baral Marrjanga is an elevated rainforest boardwalk, 660 m return and about 30 minutes, to a lookout over the Mossman River and the ranges beyond. The visitor shuttle runs from the separate Mossman Gorge Centre, so use the Centre as your departure point. The park can also be entered on foot or by bicycle.

Look for butterflies along the boardwalk, and check the river below the lookout for jungle perch or saw-shelled turtles. Strangler figs and epiphytes shape the lower rainforest canopy. This stop is within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Stay out of the river: QPWS warns that strong, unpredictable currents, deep water and submerged boulders make entering dangerous. The day-use area is usually very busy while shuttle buses are operating.
