Trail guide
Hawkhill Loop is an easy, 1.7-mile circuit from Hawkhill Car Park into a New Forest inclosure. It winds through tall trees on forest tracks and paths, then returns to the same car park. The route listing gives about 30 minutes; allow longer if you want to stop or take the turns slowly.
The mapped circuit passes through a gate, turns left, continues to a right at a crossroads, then curves back through the trees. Several junctions call for a glance at the route map, so keep it handy. This is a compact woodland walk when you want an easy break between longer New Forest outings.
Start at Hawkhill Car Park off the B3055 near Beaulieu. The walk is listed as family friendly and dog friendly. Deer may show among the trees, though sightings aren't guaranteed. Check Forestry England's current parking arrangements before arrival.
