Little Duck Key Veterans’ Memorial Beach is a county beach at the west end of Seven Mile Bridge, just off U.S. 1 at mile marker 40. It is a simple stop for a long, shallow wade and a look back toward the bridge. If you want deep water close to shore, choose another beach: visitors describe walking a long way over the flats before it deepens.
The nearshore water stays shallow, and visitors describe paths through seagrass and a long walk before reaching deeper water. That makes this a place to linger at the waterline rather than a quick dip. The grassy channels are part of the setting, so expect a different feel from a deep, open-water swimming beach.
Picnic tables and covered cabana-style shelters give you a place to sit and stretch the stop. For a photo, step down to the waterline and keep some of the shallow flats in the foreground with Seven Mile Bridge across the water.
