Sandspur is a campground in Bahia Honda State Park, with gravel sites numbered 49–72 on Bahia Honda Key. It makes the most sense if you want to stay overnight by the coast rather than make a quick day-use stop. Reserve ahead, as the park recommends it. The loop's sharp turns rule out camping rigs longer than 23 feet from hitch to bumper.
Every site has water and electric hookups, a picnic table and a grill. It's a straightforward setup for tent campers and small RVs; check your rig's overall length before reserving.
Henry Flagler's Florida Keys Overseas Railroad project helped turn Bahia Honda Key from a remote island into a destination in the early 1900s. Sandspur is an overnight way to linger on the island, rather than simply crossing it on the Keys drive.
