Woodenfrog is a drive-in campground and day-use area on a pine-covered point of Lake Kabetogama, just outside Voyageurs National Park in Kabetogama State Forest. It gives you a road-accessible way to camp by the lake, swim, picnic, or launch a boat. If you want hookups or a resort-style stay, this rustic setup isn't it.

The drive-in sites are basic and non-electric, with fire rings and picnic tables. There are vault toilets and seasonal drinking water, including accessible toilets and wells, plus two accessible campsites. Camping requires a fee, and sites are first-come, first-served. If a lake-view site matters, arrive early; those spots can be taken before the day is over. Water is seasonal, so check its availability before you count on filling up.

You can use the day area without camping: it has a swimming beach, boat ramp, two docks, and picnic shelter on the wooded shore. A short trail follows the point, with picnic spots tucked among the trees. It's a public swim spot on a natural lake shore, and the surface can vary; don't count on a uniform sandy edge.

Woodenfrog honors Me-ti-go-mah-keence, also known as Chief Jim Woodenfrog, a Bois Forte leader; his name translates as Wood Frog or Tree Frog. His family lived near Gold Portage and was among the last Bois Forte families to move to Nett Lake Reservation in the 1930s. A stone refectory at the campground was built by Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees and local craftspeople during the Corps' 1933–37 work in Kabetogama State Forest.
