Trail guide
Kapalua Village Cardio Loop is a 1.25-mile circuit on the former Village Golf Course cart paths, climbing through trees that have reclaimed the old fairways. The climb is the point: the short distance still makes for a moderate workout. Allow about 45 to 60 minutes for the loop, with more time if you stop for the views.
Most of the circuit follows paved cart paths, with one short unpaved stretch. It is a broad former course route rather than a narrow single-track trail, and side paths lead into the larger Village network. Keep the Cardio Loop separate from the longer Lake Loop and the uphill pond extension when planning your distance.
The course opens to views toward Molokaʻi and Honolua Bay. The hidden duck pond is beyond the short loop, so it is an optional extension rather than part of the Cardio Loop itself.
Use the public parking at Kapalua Village Center, then follow the tunnel connector under Honoapiʻilani Highway to the trailhead. The connector is about 0.2 mile one way; add 0.4 mile to your day for the out-and-back approach. Access to the Village Walking Trails is temporary and may close without notice, so check before setting out.
