Lake General Store is a general store with a sit-down restaurant in Lake Village, along the shore of Yellowstone Lake. Its 30-foot cedar octagon dates to 1919, and the high timber ceiling gives this practical stop a little history and character. Stop for groceries, gifts, ice cream or a break; it’s a useful errand stop, not a full outing.
Inside you’ll find groceries, general supplies, souvenirs and apparel. The restaurant serves burgers and sandwiches, and the store has a fountain menu and Wilcoxson ice cream. Meal feedback is mixed, so I’d treat the restaurant as a convenient place to eat rather than a reason to plan a special meal.
Dark timber ribs fan across the pale octagonal ceiling above a large amber chandelier. That timber roof and light are the details that make the inside more memorable than a standard park shop.
