Guide
Schoodic Woods Ranger Station is a small, staffed information stop in Winter Harbor, on Acadia’s less-traveled Schoodic side. If you’re starting the peninsula loop by car, bike, or on foot, this is a useful first stop for maps, park information, and pass questions. Rangers or volunteers can help with the park and campground. There’s a small gift shop with books and souvenirs; no food service is listed here.
The station shares a complex with Schoodic Woods Campground, but the information desk is a public day-use stop. From the upper parking area, a short uphill paved sidewalk leads to the double-door entrance and a wide interior with few physical barriers. Six marked accessible parking spaces are in that upper lot.
The Island Explorer stops here; its buses are fare-free and have wheelchair lifts. Outside the station, a separate restroom building has toilet compartments on both sides and a large single accessible restroom. There’s also a picnic table.
