Jordan Stream Path is an easy, shaded out-and-back from behind Jordan Pond House to Cobblestone Bridge along the stream. Plan on about 1.2 miles round trip: the mapped walk to the bridge is about 0.6 mile each way. Some directions round the same outing to 1.0 mile, so allow for the full bridge approach rather than turning at the first road junction. Give it around an hour, including time to look at the bridge.
Take the narrower pathThe route starts by the back steps, then splits from the carriage road.
The route starts by the back steps, then splits from the carriage road. Stay on the narrower footpath beside Jordan Stream; the carriage road is a smoother, longer alternative and does not follow the same creekside line. Expect roots, rocks, stone steps, small footbridges, and short bog-walk boards. The path drops toward the bridge, then you retrace it uphill to the starting access.

Cobblestone Bridge is the payoff: a low arch of rounded stones over a boulder-filled stream. Completed in 1917, it is the only bridge in Acadia's carriage-road system built entirely with cobblestones. Look from the carriage road above and the stream side below, keeping to solid footing on the rocks. Jordan Stream Path continues south beyond the bridge, but that longer extension and any carriage-road loop are not included in this out-and-back.

Follow Park Loop Road signs to the Jordan Pond House area and use the signed parking access there. Walk behind the House, descend the steps toward the brook, then choose the narrow path at the fork. Jordan Pond House is beside the access; there is no food service along the stream route. Dogs are allowed on the path and must stay on a leash no longer than six feet.
